Meet Dr. Specht

Dr. Specht grew up in Napa Valley just above St. Helena California, in a small town called Angwin. It was a college community and he attended first grade through his last year in college there. He enjoyed these rural surroundings and put himself through school by learning masonry, framing and general construction from his dad. These skills paid for education in a private Christian school system and afforded him the opportunity to work on many of Napa Valley's famous wineries. Some of these included Sterling Vineyards, Beaulieu Vineyards, and Robert Mondavi's personal residence.
Dr. Specht graduated in 1981 with a BS in Biochemistry from Pacific Union College. He completed his dental training at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry where he graduated in 1985. After purchasing a general dental practice in Ione California in 1985, he then practiced all areas of dentistry until 1993. At that time he was accepted into the orthodontic program at Loma Linda University where he completed his masters degree in orthodontics, which he received in 1995. At the completion of this program he was awarded the Roland Walter's Research award and went on to set up private practice in Santa Maria California in August of 1995. Dr. Specht had satellite practices in Taft and Buellton, Ca for a few years as well. In the 26 years of involvement with the dental profession and the 16 years of practicing orthodontics he has remained committed to using the advances in research, treatment technique and technology to better serve his patients.
He enjoys his two children, Kristin and Michael very much. The Central Coast of California provides an excellent back drop for his many interests which include, bicycling, motorcycles, photography, kayaking, hiking, surfing, camping, movies, friends and family.
